Biking – Off Road Pedal (BYO Bike)
- Enjoy dozens of off-road bike paths exploring Tara’s backwoods through Mississippi Delta Hardwoods
Romping on the River: Swimming in the MS River

Tara has a one-mile stretch of sand bar at the river which offers wide views from the north and the south. At this point on the river, the channel is hundreds of yards away. We will rope off an area approximately 20 feet outward and 100 feet horizontal to the shore. A lifeguard will be present and life vest are mandatory when entering the water of which is typically waste deep (by design) max. This particular are is ideal for those who wish to simply walk the shore and maybe take a dip before returning to Tara.
Kayaks
- Led by Angi Webb ~ Pearl River Kayaks. Paddle Tara’s Forest Home Chute. Beginners of all age welcome. Three Time Slots available for reservation. All gear provided.
- Times: Early Bird 7/7:30 a.m. | Mid-Morning 10:00 a.m. | Late Afternoon 3:30 p.m. Call to reserve time slot. Children under 6 may be required to bring personal Flotation Vest. (Based on Availability)
- One & Two person (or more) Kayaks & Canoes available. Reservations requested. Shuttle Included. •“Bring Your Own Kayak or Canoe and Join in”
Biking – Group Rides
- Ride with Leslie Robinson. Tara’s offers fantastic biking trails through MS River Bottomlands. Morning (7:00am) start time or take off on your own. (Maps provided). To join the group bike ride, you must register in advance.
