CAST THE LINE
Guests of our lodge and cabins are welcome to fish any of Tara’s lakes, though we request that you abide by Tara’s creel limits. Our lakes have bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish.
A few fishing poles are available for guests at Tara’s main lodge, but we recommend that guests bring their own. Bait and tackle can be purchased at one of the local convenience stores around Eagle Lake.
Fishing includes an approx. 2+ miles of Forest Home Chute which has a concrete ramp.
Eagle Lake
Eagle Lake is a public oxbow lake bordering Mississippi and Louisiana and can be accessed directly from Tara Wildlife. The public boat ramp is only a few miles away. Eagle Lake is a well-known fishing location, popular with bass and catfish fishermen. Convenience stores around Eagle Lake offer bait and supplies.
